At Highbrow Vapor, we’re known for our bold flavor profiles that make our e-liquids unique. We proudly use top-of-the-line ingredients that allow customers to taste the difference in quality right away. Because we built our company on producing complex, rich e-liquid flavors, the majority of our customers are those who prioritize flavor over every other aspect of vaping.
What is E-Liquid Dilution, and What Purpose Does It Serve?
Diluting an e-liquid can be done in one of two ways: either by diluting it with a VG/PG mix, or with water. Water dilutes the entire e-liquid formula, and thus changes its consistency, making it thinner and less likely to deliver thick clouds that many vapers crave. This is why, when asked, we dilute our e-juice with a VG/PG base.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG) and Propylene Glycol (PG) are the two base ingredients of any vape juice. They are both flavorless and odorless, and work together to give e-juice the proper consistency so that it can be vaporized in a way that offers the perfect balance between throat hit, cloud capability and flavor.
What is the Reason for Diluting an E-Liquid to Begin With?
Well, sometimes an e-liquid is simply too potent for a particular user’s tastes, priorities, or vaping goals. For instance, some people are simply more sensitive to flavor than other due to the unique flavor receptors in their sensory system. Therefore, even though our flavors are generally blended perfectly, the user finds them overwhelming.
Another reason to dilute an e-juice is because of the nicotine. Some vapers have extremely specific nicotine-related needs, and the standard nicotine strengths offered by companies are still too strong for them. Diluting the formula with a VG/PG base allows the vaper to enjoy a lower nicotine strength, but of course this also means that the flavor will be diluted as well.
When Might E-Liquid Dilution Become a Problem?
When done on request, e-liquid dilution can give customers more control over their vaping experience, allowing them to customize their e-liquids according to their most precise tastes. The problem is when companies automatically dilute their e-juices without telling customers, in an effort to save money. Some companies figure that if they dilute their formulas with more Vegetable Glycerin and Propylene Glycol, two ingredients that don’t actually satisfy customers but rather exist as base ingredients, they can make bigger profits. But, of course, this comes at the cost of dissatisfied customers who wonder why both their flavor and nicotine strength aren’t giving them the vaping experience that they had hoped for.
Companies should never dilute their e-liquids automatically because this is simply dishonest. This is especially the case if they charge standard prices for their e-juices, as VG and PG are not actually costly ingredients.
Why Doesn’t Highbrow Vapor Automatically Dilute E-Liquids?
At Highbrow Vapor, we don’t dilute our e-liquids unless we are specifically asked to do so directly by a customer. Again, we take huge pride in the quality of our e-liquids, and a lot of that comes from the flavoring ingredients that we carefully source. We would never dream of diluting the flavor profiles that we’ve worked tirelessly to develop, with our customers’ tastes in mind. That would be wasteful, dishonest and a letdown to customers who anticipate bold, complex tastes when they enjoy our e-juices.
But, on our website, we do offer customization options. We have a textbox on each e-juice page where customers can specifically request a dilution, and we’re happy to fulfill orders accordingly if that’s what customers want. At the end of the day, our company is here to serve vapers, and we recognize that each vaper is unique.
