Those Same VG/PG Ratios Can Be Quite Different

If you’ve just gotten into salt nic e-liquid, you’re probably wondering about the role that the VG/PG ratio plays in terms of your overall vaping experience. Those who have been using sub-ohm systems for a while are used to the fact that the ratio has an enormous effect on everything from cloud production to the intensity of an e-liquid’s flavor. When it comes to vaping a salt nic e-liquid using a pod system, things are quite different.

Salt nic vape juices have slightly different formulas that affect the way in which the liquid is turned into vapor. Plus, they’re used with pod systems, meaning that the size of the clouds, the throat hit, and other aspects of vaping are largely affected by the device itself.

Before you start getting nit-picky about the ratio of your nic salt juice, allow us to explain exactly how the ratio affects your pod-based vaping experience. You may be surprised.

Up until recently, vapers could only purchase e-liquids that contained freebase nicotine.  This type of nicotine is chemically altered in order to be more potent. However, it wasn’t created for systems that reach high wattage levels. As a result, those who wanted to take in a good amount of nicotine experienced throat irritation when using powerful devices.

Now, thanks to salt-based nicotine, vapers can enjoy a potent nicotine hit without burning their throat. This type of nicotine has revolutionized the vaping industry by providing intense satisfaction to those who crave that buzz.

Because salt nic e-liquids must be used with pod systems, they must contain a fairly strict ratio of ingredients. While freebase nic e-liquids tend to come in a wide variety of VG/PG ratios, salt nic e-liquids are typically only available in 50/50 ratios with the occasional exception.

So, how does the same ratio differ?

Throat Hit

Many people who vape a high PG freebased e-liquid do so because they enjoy the strong throat hit that comes with more propylene glycol (PG). When you’re vaping a salt nic e-liquid, you’re going to get a stronger throat hit no matter what due to the nature of nicotine salts. Therefore, you don’t necessarily need to go for a PG level that’s above 50 percent.

Flavor

Another advantage is a more pronounced flavor. However, salt nic e-juices are only compatible with mouth-to-lung (MTL) pod systems. These pod devices have set output levels and coil resistance levels that already promote a stronger, richer flavor.

Cloud Production

Because of the nature of nicotine salt e-liquids and pod systems in general, your cloud-chasing abilities are a bit limited. Therefore, even if you were to vape a nic salt juice with a very high VG level, you wouldn’t get the same clouds that you get with a big sub-ohm device. Plus, nic salt liquid requires a certain PG level in order to vape properly, meaning that a high VG nic salt juices would probably not deliver a satisfying vape.

See Which One Works for You

It’s safe to say that the ratio is less important when it comes to vaping a salt nic e-liquid with a pod system. However, you should still feel free to experiment if you believe that playing around with the ratio will allow you to find your unique sweet spot.

Good Morning. Good Evening. How's Your Vaping?

Have you noticed that your vaping preferences change dramatically, depending on the time of day? If so, you're definitely not the only one. As our palates crave different types of foods and our bodies have unique needs, depending on whether it's the morning or the evening, our vape-related needs tend to vary throughout the day.

In fact, what time of day it is can impact everything from how much nicotine we crave to what flavor we wish to enjoy. Below, you'll see just how dramatically our vaping tastes change from morning to night.

Vaping in The Morning

Flavor

When we first wake up, our palates are still feeling a bit sleepy. That's why we crave more mild, gentle flavors that aren't too complex or heavy. Many vapers find that tobacco and coffee flavors work very nicely during the early morning hours. Others enjoy fresh fruity flavors that remind them of refreshing smoothies or healthy fruit salads. There are also many breakfast-inspired e-liquids that taste like cereals, pancakes and more.

Device

Upon waking up, we are usually less interested in blowing impressively sized clouds and more interested in getting that nicotine fix. That's why many vapers prefer to use pod mod devices or portable sub-ohm pen mods. These mods give us that hit to the throat that stimulates our sleepy senses.

Nicotine Strength

If you're all about nicotine, the craving is probably most intense upon getting out of bed. That's because you've gone hours without having any in your system. Unsurprisingly, vapers often prefer high-nicotine e-liquids in the morning.

Vaping in The Evening

Flavor

In the evening, our palates are more interested in bold, complex flavors. Many of us enjoy rich and sweet dessert flavors after finishing our dinners. This is the time of day when you can pull out the custards, pastries and cakes. Vapers love that they can indulge in their favorite sweet flavors without any of the calories.

Device

Many vapers find that their cloud-related desires increase during the evening hours. This is probably because of how relaxing it can be to chase clouds. This simple hobby has a therapeutic effect on the mind, helping us unwind after a long day. That being said, it's no surprise that many vspers prefer heavy-duty sub-ohm devices during the second half of the day.

Nicotine Strength

Because you've spent all day consuming nicotine with your vaping device, your cravings are probably less intense when the evening hours come around. Many vapers choose low-nicotine e-liquids for their evening vapes. Plus, the lower the nicotine level, the bigger and fluffier the clouds.

Vaping Any Time of The Day Works

No matter what time of day it is, vaping is one of the most satisfying hobbies of all. There's something about that smooth vapor and that delicious flavor that provides us with loads of pleasure all day long.

A Quick Vaping Tip: Recycling

Now that you've ditched the analog cigarettes for vape products, you have much to feel proud about. However, it's still important to be a responsible vaper. When it comes to hardware, recycling is crucial. Most of the materials from which these types of products are made from can be recycled so that they may be reused.

You may think that your products don't make a huge difference when it comes to saving the environment. However, consider how many coils and juice bottles you go through in one month alone. Over time, your discarded products add up. That's why it's important to recycle your vape products when you're no longer using them.

Recycling Your Vape Products:

Used Bottles

Your empty e-liquid bottles are made from either plastic or glass, two materials that should always be recycled. To properly recycle your old juice bottles, make sure to rinse them out with hot water. Don't forget to recycle the bottle caps as well.

An alternative to recycling your old juice bottles is repurposing them for yourself. These bottles can be collected and used for future DIY juice-making ventures. Even if you don't plan on becoming a DIY vaper in the near future, small, empty bottles do come in handy.

Batteries

It's crucial that you recycle your old batteries. In fact, many states require by law that all batteries are properly recycled. Because they can leak toxic chemicals if carelessly discarded, it's very unwise to simply toss them into the garbage.

If your vape batteries are still functional, you may consider selling them instead of discarding them. Many online vaping communities allow you to sell your old batteries if they still work properly.

Coils

Sure, coils are small, but they really do add up. Because coils are made from stainless-steel, they're recyclable. Give them a good rinse and toss them into the recycling bin rather than the garbage can.

Tanks

Your tanks can be recycled because they are made from stainless-steel and glass/poly-carbonate. Both materials can be turned into other products. Give your old vape tank a thorough rinse under warm water and throw it into your recycling can.

Just Recycle It

By making a point to recycle these vape products, you will become a responsible vaper who is doing their part to take care of the environment.

The Basics Between Standard and Variable Voltages

APVs clouds devices e-juice e-liquid electronic cigarettes flavor MODs ohms power standard vape pens vaping vapor variable watts

The Basics Between Standard and Variable Voltages

Have you ever wondered what the difference is when it comes to devices that use standard and variable voltages? It is all in the vape! Are you a heavy or frequent smoker? How much vapor can you handle? Let those questions help guide your decision-making process.

Variable Voltage
Are you looking to control or be able to adjust the amount of vapor you attend to inhale and exhale, then variable voltage is the option to investigate.

You must first be aware of the types of voltages because if you adjust your device too high, it will become too strong and the e-liquid being vaped can have a burnt taste. The coil always must stay moist and clean. If you don't know what you're doing, it may taste like burnt liquid. Variable voltages use a 6-volt battery. A variable voltage device has 6-volts and with an average of 3-ohms, it can produce 12 watts of vaping power.

The best part is you can control it and it is compatible with any cartomizer that has the same threading. Those that need more vapor, flavor, or a stronger throat hit; especially for the heavy smokers turning to vaping out there; you might prefer using variable voltage devices such as a MOD or APV.

Standard Voltage
Standard voltage devices have a quick recharge, are less expensive, and are very simplistic. With standard voltage you produce less vapor.

The types of devices that fit into this category use 3.7-volt batteries and have 2.5-ohms, producing a little under 5.5 watts of vaping power. Standard voltage devices are easy to use but you are unable to adjust the levels. Those that are just starting out or prefer less vapor intake can go with a device that falls into the standard category, as that might be the best option for you. These units are usually less expensive and easy to use.

Now, when we think about these devices, they fall under the realm of electronic cigarettes or vape pens. It's a great starter and you can always upgrade if you do feel that the vapor intake isn’t strong enough for your taste or if you want to be able take your vape game to a new level, say by doing some cloud chasing.

The Voltage Choice Is Yours

Your choice really depends on the amount of vapor you want to create and handle during your vape sessions! Want more, go for variable, want less, then stick with standard. Just be knowledgeable for whichever option you choose. Also, it’s a good idea to study up on Ohm’s Laws, as this will give you the tools you need to make a more informed decision.

3 Simple Ways to Increase Your E-Liquid's Taste and Vapor Production

3 Simple Ways to Increase Your E-Liquid's Taste and Vapor Production

Increasing the vapor and flavor production are two excellent ways of enhancing a vape session. You can achieve this by slightly tweaking you e-liquid. There are 3 factors that determine the level of your e-liquid’s flavor and vapor output.

The Vaper
If you aren’t getting a great taste or enough clouds from your e-juice, you just might be the problem. The reason why your juice’s flavor may no longer be serving your vaping needs sufficiently is because you might be experiencing vaper’s tongue. This is a situation whereby you can no longer enjoy a flavor like you used to in the past. Vaper’s tongue is caused by several factors including: dehydration, poor oral hygiene, common cold, and sticking to one e-liquid for a lengthy amount of time. If suffering from vper’s tongue, you can get a better taste if you drink lots of water and treat your nasal blockage issues. Also, it will help if you can switch-up e-liquids.

The vaper affects vapor production through the inhalation style. If you aren’t getting the desired vapor output, then you need to change your inhalation style. If you’re vaping with a MOD or any other vape hardware that has large airflows, switch direct to the lung inhalation method. Also, inhale more rapidly for increased vapor output. However, if you’re using devices without airflow control, the best way to maximize vapor output is but taking slow yet long inhales.

The E-liquid
The e-liquid’s characteristics can affect the vapor and flavor production in different ways. If looking to enhance vapor output, opt for e-liquids with a higher Vegetable Glycerin (VG) ratio. The thick consistency of this ingredient helps to thicken the flavor. VG also could combine with the air’s moisture molecule, thus, enabling you to produce clouds of vapor. Conversely, a high PG ratio will help heighten the flavor. Its properties, which are clear, tasteless and thin, help to make your e-liquids flavor more pronounced and for you to achieve a moderate to strong throat hit.

The Vaping Device
To increase your e-liquids taste and vapor output, you might have to switch up your device. Consider switching to a powerful low resistance device, such as a MOD or APV that allows you to increase wattages. Lower resistance and high wattages will help you get more vapor from your liquid. On the other hand, using a sub-ohm device will help to heighten the taste of your e-juice. This is because such devices have more coils, meaning more juice is vaporized.

To increase the taste and flavor of your e-liquid, you must study yourself, the components of your e-liquid, and the capabilities of your vape hardware. If you’re lagging in any of the three, then you might not get the desired taste and vapor output.
